A week before Christmas
Thas a week before Christmas,
and all through my house,
an ill wind was blowing,
thanks to high natural gas prices.
The roomies were asleep,
all snug in thier rooms.
Since I locked them there,
so no more stuff could go missing.
Me in my rooms,
alseep in my bed,
with visions of pizzas
flying all round my head.
When out on the lawn,
there arrose such a clatter.
It must be Amber and her mom,
with the new lights for my house.
The job was just fine,
hangovers finally gone.
Learned that red wine and rum
don't got well togther.
I know I know, it doesn't rhyme, but what do you want. The last descent poem I wrote was in Grade 11. My one bright, socially acceptable poem that won a little contest and made it into a book. The rest are always dark and brooding. Kinda like me ! LOL
But seriously, I think that I'm finally outta my holiday funk. I've recovered from getting another year older and think I'm ready to face the season. Found out today that I do get stuck working New Years. But in exchange I get the 24th, 25th and 26th off. Thats a first since I was with the government. Looking forward to seeing my family. That sounds strange since they only live 10 blocks away. But it seems like I see them less than when I lived in Edmonton.
Well, off to bed now since I promised to get some sleep.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT !!
